DuPont Boxcar Restoration: Celebrate with us
Please join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception on February 1st at 2:00, to celebrate the restoration of our narrow-gauge boxcar and to thank the volunteers and donors who made it possible!
The project was funded by the City of DuPont LTAC, National Railway Historical Society, Nisqually Indian Tribe Charitable Fund, Olympia Model Railroad Clinic members, Over the Hill Gang, Puyallup Tribe Charity Trust, Squaxin Island Tribe, and many, many generous individuals and local businesses. The restoration was beautifully completed by Historic Railway Restoration, Inc.
The afternoon will include light refreshments, Q&A about the project, and a small silent auction. RSVP to (253) 820-3656 or by email to help us plan.

Gingerbread Open House
The museum's open house in December brought guests of all ages to tour the exhibits, shop for gifts, and enjoy refreshments and crafts. Nearly 40 gingerbread houses were decorated with creative gusto and finger-licking results!

Resolved to volunteer in 2025?
In October, volunteers from Graceworks Church gave the museum a major clean-up by tackling blackberry bushes in Robinson Park and giving a fresh coat of paint to the porch and steps. Thank you!
More recently, our volunteers decorated the Dynamite Train with holiday lights to celebrate the season.
DuPont Historical Society and Museum need volunteers for several tasks. One-time or long-term, at the museum or remote—there's a variety of needs: in particular we are searching for a social media volunteer, event photographer, and volunteer coordinator. If you can help, we’ll find a role for you!
The Volunteer Interest Form is on our website—please contact us with any questions.

Tea Time
The annual Cherry Blossom Tea is coming up on April 5th at The Home Course, generously sponsored by Glacier Northwest. Tickets are now available—Join us and history interpreters Karen Haas and Elizabeth Korsmo to raise a cuppa in celebration of Queen Victoria's birthday!
